This training provides a framework for frontline workers supporting children and families. It brings together the current evidence in meeting the needs of children and families and provides guidance for working with the professional system that can become frozen or split following a traumatic death and other similar events.

The course covers:

  • Children and young people’s voices and research

  • Framework for trauma sensitive conversations

  • The impact on children's mental health, wellbeing and development

  • The traumatic impact of domestic homicide on professional and family systems

  • Co-creating and sharing a narrative to support children’s understanding, processing and integrating

  • Contact with the perpetrator

  • When to refer to therapy and other services

This one-day online training provides 7 hours of structured learning. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance for their CPD records.
